‘Curiosity
Cabinets’ or ‘Wonder Cabinets’ of the 19th century contained
a strange assortment of objects - from the curious to the exotic. Their
aim was not so much to catalogue objects as to present a philosophical
idea of the world at that time - a mirror in a microcosm. ‘Cabinets
for Emily’ contains my collection of ‘things seen’ in
the life and work of Emily Dickinson who is regarded as one of the great
American poets of the 19th century.
